Welcome to Houston

As America’s fourth largest city, Houston has always been a big deal and it’s your gateway to the USA. In recent years, the metropolitan hub of the south has stepped things up a notch to cater to all sorts of travellers. It’s widely regarded as the most restaurant-oriented city in the States. This reputation draws in crowds of both up-and-coming and established chefs, keen to make their mark.

Although it’s very modern, Houston is also steeped in heritage. History buffs will find poignant civil war memorials, including the impressive San Jacinto Battle Monument and Museum. Once a part of Mexico, Houston is also a fantastic place to begin a southbound adventure.

For entertainment, there’s everything from adventure rides to the famous Houston Space Center, and even some more relaxed options. Hot summers and mild winters mean it’s always a good time to hit the beach or explore the many acres of parkland. You can also duck inside one of many local galleries to cool off and take in the stunning artworks.
