Eating & Drinking
During every Air New Zealand operated flight, complimentary tea, coffee and water will be available to everyone. Meals and free-of-charge drinks are offered to The Works and Works Deluxe passengers. Seat and Seat + Bag passengers have the option of buying snacks and drinks, using a credit card, Airpoints Dollars™ or voucher for payment.
Seat & Seat + Bag Passengers
With our Seat and Seat + Bag fares, you can purchase packaged snack foods, like potato chips and chocolate bars, from our Inflight Bites menu. You will also be able to choose fresh snacks (such as sandwiches and toasties) and cold drinks, including beer, spirits and wine.
Purchases are made through the seat-back entertainment system. You can view the selection on your screen and buy items by swiping your credit card (cash and debit cards are not accepted) through the system, or using your Airpoints Dollars™. If you don’t have a credit card, you can purchase vouchers at the airport. Your order will be delivered directly to your seat by a member of the cabin crew.
On Virgin Australia flights, a selection of snacks, beverages and hot foods (subject to availability) are available for purchase from the menu. Accepted forms of payment are cash, credit card and Air New Zealand's pre-purchased vouchers.
The Works & Works Deluxe Passengers
With The Works and Works Deluxe fares, a meal will be served and drinks offered during Air New Zealand operated trans-Tasman flights. No meal is offered on domestic services within New Zealand.
You can request a vegetarian, gluten-intolerant or child meal when you book. If a special meal is not requested at the time of booking, a standard meal will be provided. Meals are similar to those served in Economy Class on our long haul flights. After your meal, you can order additional drinks free of charge from the 'Complimentary' section of the Inflight Bites menu on your entertainment system.
Virgin Australia offers a meal on selected trans-Tasman and domestic Australia flights. Please refer to the Virgin Australia website for more details.
